How to Get Away with Murder Episode 2: This show keeps you glued. The elevation of the dramatic tension is fantastic. The major arc storyline is getting better and better. The minor arc? Well that too has two story lines. One episodic and one continual. The episodic bit wasnt out of this world despite having decent value to it. The continual bit is going to develop into something special. The shows informational load and parallel story line split across two arcs is a great draw. Viewer is compelled to process information at oft blinding pace but at the same time each element has its own dramatic poise. What the show lacks, by choice perhaps more than accident, is a wider range of emotional exploration and higher range of audience involvement. It doesnt have clues to solve and a line of links to grab onto like a proper whodunnit would. It couldve added to the show further but even without the same, the show has so much promise to it despite giving the normative vibes of being another one of those more style than substance shows. Its easy to forget that not all compelling television must hold substance to it. Sometimes, we just want to have some fun without having to worry about the baggage it brings.
