Howdy Tribemates! I really enjoyed last nights event for the little bit of time I was able to be there. I just wanted to expand on Cindys question about slavery in the bible because this is a topic that Ive heard come up repeatedly both in personal conversations and in the media as a means to discredit Christians and advance non-biblical agendas. A good example of this is the words of the Australian Prime Minister on national TV as seen here: https://youtube/watch?v=0CmZIakQv6Y#t=118 In helping to prepare a defense for this charge, I would check out a podcast put out by Ben Stuart of Breakaway Ministries. Last semester, he worked through the book of Ephesians and in approaching 6:5-9 (Bondservants, obey your masters...), he released a podcast specifically speaking to the institution of slavery during the first century and how we should respond to these accusations.
