Huge Amen to my friend Stephen Cleghorns excellent comment: I wish people cared as much about the continuing erosion of voting rights in America, or the dark money in our politics since the Citizens United decision. Thats where the real assault on our freedoms is taking place. Sony is no champion of freedom, and buying a ticket to this show is faint expression of freedom, mostly cheap and self-satisfying. For myself I am awaiting the release of Selma, a movie about the true cost of freedom. Go or don’t go. But don’t place our police as security guards, above any level at any other show. If the theater thinks that they need to, the should hire security. That way, the true cost of going to see this movie is borne by those involved in the voluntary and for-profit transaction. If standing up to N Korea gets too salty, folks may opt for a better sacrifice bargain.
