Human right abuse in renting land. 1. If you are leasing a property, then the first down payment is an extra month/year of payment. In the case of leasing native land, the tenants are charged about 20 k for down payment in Nausori area and about 200 dollars every year. The down payment should be 400 dollars as in the case of renting property. 2. Crown land, you can get quarter acre for 60 k in Nausori area. then you pay 400 dollars for each year of lease. What is the need for payment of lease if you purchases land and then will return after 99 years. The down payment should be 800 dollars, not 60 k? These are human rights abuses that both our Indian and Taukei brothers face when investing in land/house in Fiji. Either you sell or rent the land. What your government has been doing so far is allowing the landowners to exploit the poor population of Fiji. What can your politicians do about this?
