Humans love to grow things, it runs deep in our blood. There is no feeling in the world like seeing that something youve planted and tended is growing well. Interaction with plants allows folks to participate in the magic of life, tending the future through our interaction with seed and soil. Farming is defined by the acts of cultivation and husbandry that make up the day. Americans seem to carry a farm around with us in our hearts, and its amazing how specific these visions are, especially for people whos choices of lifestyle mean that they wont ever ACTUALLY farm. Farming is a huge part of our national heritage: it makes me proud to participate in the miracle of cultivation, and to work on breaking down the barriers between different types of farmers.
