Husband (62 yrs old, with Cancer) cares for his Wife (71 yrs old, with Alzheimers). They have been living in these conditions since they moved in 4.5 yrs ago. Prior to moving in, they were HOMELESS for many years. Theyve had ROACH INFESTATIONS & ROOF/WATER LEAKS since theyve been there! Once they started asking for it to be fixed, theyre rent was raised $200/month!! They are on fixed incomes & receive checks a day or two later when due and have to pay $90 in late fees!!! They finally called Code Enforcement. And the repairs being made are NOT adequate! NOW, he is AFRAID he is about to be EVICTED and they are doing all they can to get him and his wife out! They are residents of District #2!! Call your Council Members and let them know you support better Renter/Tenant Protections!!!
