Hypothesis: the probability that a zip file when extracted here will be in a single folder instead of a bunch of loose files is a monotonically increasing function of what year that file was compressed. If you download and extract a .zip file from today, it will be have its own directory (and a redundant one if you said extract to [name of zip]. If you download a file that was compressed in 1990, and extract here, youre gonna have a bad time. What do you think, Duncan? Seem about right?
