“I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE.” “Jesus said to them, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty’” (John 6:35). Whenever I read from the chapter of the sixth chapter of John, I am just made eternally humbled. John’s gospel is reminding all of us that Jesus is truly the Son of God. No one, no person, no ‘being’ can possibly make this statement other than our Lord Jesus himself! The “Bread of Life” Jesus is speaking about is not the bread we can all buy at the super market. Jesus is actually telling us that He is Life! He is the fullness of all that can be given or received! Truly, Jesus is God. He is from the very beginning of life itself. He, and only he, came down from the heavenly place so that, as you and I partake of him, we will be receiving life eternal, if we simply believe. This is the key which will open up the door to heaven. In order to receive this heavenly blessing we need to believe what Jesus says he is: “I am the bread of Live.” Prayer: O Lord God, our Heavenly Father, your love for all creation is known by us through Jesus your Son who came to earth to bring your eternal blessings for all who believe and receive his wondrous redemption of sin.
