***I DO NOT AGREE WITH THE PICTURE IM SHARING*** read my post to see how I feel about this. WARNING: this is a politically-charged post, so if you dont like to see politics on FB then just skip this one. This is the one issue I am at odds with the Constitution Party on. I understand there are drastic socio-economic problems resulting from illegal immigration, but people flee to the US because they want their children to have a chance. Ive met many of these people, and Ive talked with the people who know them (I mean really know them). They dont typically come here to cause trouble. The ones who risk everything to flee from the slums they live in are actually the kind of people we *want* in America: hard-working and family-oriented. The fact is a lot of these immigrants make better citizens than the people who were born here and take what we have for granted. Im not saying nothing should be done--we all suffer in order to make their burden lighter--but 100% no amnesty is the same as a mass expulsion of people from (largely) one ethnic background. Regardless of the reasons, that has never gone well, and it never will. If this occurs, it will likely be remembered as another Trail of Tears, or close to it. You cant just think of illegal immigrants as bachelors looking for an easy dollar; they are families. I dont know how to fix this complex issue, but I think it deserves a lot more thought than this.
