I Got Peace Heading to the river for a day or so today to enjoy my family. The last time we where there pap Keller took us out on a boat. As I was holding my baby and looking out the back of the boat I was looking at how much water kicked out from the propeller. Then I stared across the water and noticed how still the river was. The Same water that was splashing and bubbling everywhere was calm just a few feet away. That reminded me of my walk with God. While he has taken many things from my life as I chose to lay them at his feet(this part is critical) I still have many issues and stresses. Many of them are the same ones I had before I committed to follow him. Jesus was not a magic pill that made all of my problems disappear. I now serve a God who cares about everything big and small that happens in my life. He also offers me a peace beyond comprehension. Jesus promises us in John 16:33 That he spoke to us so that if we listen and follow what he has instructed us that we will have peace in him. He said we will still have trials but he has overcome them. Do we believe that today? We should. It is much better to go through tribulations while walking in peace! Much like the water was the same kicking out of the back of the boat as the water 50yards away that was still and calm, I may have the same trials and struggles in my life but I serve a God has beat them and a peace in my heart!
