I HAVE A SICKNESS I have a sickness, a crippling disease that causes me to slowly lose my mind.. Forgoing all thoughts of social contact in favor of a much more solitary environment, unless in the company of others burdened with my same ailment. My blood thickens and turns to liquid gold full of zinc and phosphorous. My sweat is flammable and has the sweet sting of high octane. My condition worsens as my hands fly and my mind races as I begin to speak to lifeless lumps of iron and steel attempting to coax it out of its dormant state.. 15426378 I tell it as I begin to assemble the purposeful puzzle in front of me. However this sleeping animal in front of me cannot awaken on its own, it cannot feed itself, it cannot move on an empty stomach, it needs nurturing. There is no spark of life in the cold still hunk of metal. It needs a life support system and that is exactly what Ill give it.. After what seems like eons its ready to come to life. The electrical components of its primitive nervous system are in place, Ive giving it food and a way to consume it, and water to keep itself cool in the desert heat. With a jolt and a whine it starts to awaken, slowly at first. Then faster and faster as it coughs and sputters to life before it starts to breathe fire and roar louder than 1000 of the most ferocious lions. Joy wells up inside me as the beasts roaring cry begins to settle into lopey labored melody, and that melody turns into a symphony of 400 horses all singing together to the tempo of my right foot.. I have a sickness, and I seek no cure..
