I Love Churches. Im not very religious, in terms of abiding by a set of morals that a denomination has set forth, but there is something for pure that happens when I enter a church or a temple. Its the peaceful sound that resonates throughout the ornamented and intricate carvings of the architecture, its the light that seeps through the stained glass, its the instruments that are asking to be touched, its the people praying out of sadness or madness or some form of tragedy. When I was with my ex bf we used to have a tremendous amount of time on our hands so one of our activities that we created was to travel around neighborhoods and enter their churches. We went in churches from San Francisco to Los Angeles to New York to New Jersey to Philadelphia to Buenos Aires and to Montevideo and in each one of the churches we visited we cried together, because of the beauty and this overwhelmingly dramatic feeling it stirred within us.
