I, Nguyen Do, along with my sister, Lily Do, and the help of a few helping hands, created an organization called Nguyen Do, Project of Children & Leprosy, Inc. We are a motivated group of individuals who gathered together to make a difference. Our goal is to provide help, services and build homes for families and children who are currently suffering from a disease called Leprosy. By doing so, we plan on spreading awareness and fundraise through various events and with appropriate sponsorships and funding. Other than children of Leprosy, we currently also offer helping hands to children who are disabled, homeless, and in critical needs for survival. To expanding opportunities for persons with disabilities in Vietnam through higher quality and sustainable service, awareness, and advocacy strengthening. Promotion of self -help groups for disabled women and men helps to reduce isolation, fight social stigma and improve participation in service program as well as other social and community life. Problems and Issues: Vietnam currently have approximately 100,000 persons with disabilities per province according to a MoH`s survey. Many children suffering from the cerebral palsy and others disease effected on children. Children with health problems are the affected directly to their families and community, many cases the parent did not keep their child when they identified the child suffering from one or more health problems and what happened with the child?. Many parent gave away their child to some of the Shelter or simple just left their child on the street or neighbors and walk away. Some of the Shelters (the public charity, the non-profit organization) volunteer to keep those child and carry the child`s life from there, most of these Shelters don`t even have space, food and people to taking care for their members.
