**I REALLY HOPE YOU WILL TAKE A FEW MINUTES AND READ THIS & THE ATTACHED WEB MD ARTICLE** Mary C. and I had a great conversation tonight, via private messages. I do still need to go back and check out the link she shared and will very likely post it. We started talking about good and bad foods for people who live with Fibromyalgia. I have paid attention when people have brought up diet and/or exercise and I get the feeling a lot of people arent terribly interested. Bare with me here. Dont get mad yet. We all know there are so many variations as far as symptoms. No two of us are identical and no diet has been proven with certainty to help EVERYONE who has Fibromyalgia. I will be sharing a link from WebMD before I am finished that I think most of you will nod in agreement because it is not a hard core article. The author is as honest as he can be. You might be surprised. Before I get to that I will say this. I did take a Masters Level Class on food chemicals and dyes that interact negatively with neurotransmitters in the brain. I will do my best to be brief. This is what I do know. Caffeine is not good and when we consider its stimulant effect it is as bad for you to drink caffeine as it is for a person who has IBS to take Ex-Lax...they are both stimulants. For those who have issues with the bone burning heat like I have especially in my head. Thats why I now towel dry my hair. It is never good to mix caffeine with meds either. Am I going to tell all of you who drink a cup or two of coffee a day to STOP? No, No, No because it isnt my place. MSG and I are mortal enemies. We all have to have fiber but beef is something I eat maybe 1/2 dozen times a year and my body can not digest it. Milk, as much as I like it, is not my friend. I do drink Almond Milk and am finally going to try soy milk this week. I LOVE the taste of the almond milk and I dont vomit when I drink it. I recently had to go on the BRAT diet. My Gastro Doctor put me on it and it has helped with some serious IBS symptoms. B- Bananas R- Rice (even Minute Rice) A- Applesauce T- Toast (and some say decaf tea) Im not a fan of bread (except banana and zucchini, and the biscuits at Red Lobster). So I can take or leave all things bread. I am going to address this in a deeper manner in the next few days. Here is the article I want to start out with. I promise this isnt going to become a page that is all about food and exercise. But we have had several request information, and Mary just brought it up again. In the next Food & Exercise column I share, I will not repeat what is stated here. But will give some other options. We have to keep in mind and in our heart that not everything fits everyone. But it does need to be addressed. Here is the link. It is a short, easy read. webmd/fibromyalgia/guide/fibromyalgia-the-diet-connection
