I USED TO BE ON FIRE FOR GOD...SOMETHING IS MISSING...HIS PRESENCE, PASSION, INTIMACY...CAN IT BE THAT I AM NOT DEALING WITH THE PREVALENT & HABITUAL SINS IN MY LIFE...? Would you entertain my writings for just a moment? I pray this encourages you. I enjoy hearing a man mourn over his sin and inadequacies. His conviction cuts deep, and he is being humbled. This is a great thing. In the past, I would quickly run to the rescue of my brothers who seem to haven fallen from the pedestal they sat atop. Now, wisdom tells me to watch as they fall and provide encouraging words only for them to seek closer communing with God while they waddle in their misery. As tears roll down their faces, I sense their pain and hurt. However, I wouldn’t dare mess with the purging that is going on inside of them. It could very well be that the sins they were trying to cover were exposed. Now, those closest to him notice he has lived a lie. That is a difficult thing to endure; however, it must be done so that his pride will be challenged. Do you see that he, with all his pride, thought he was above the ordinances of God? He thought he couldn’t be punished. He thought he couldn’t be touched or found out. He was sorely mistaken. I do hope that you do not turn out like this man. Instead, quickly fall to your knees and weep and cry and mourn over your sins. Do you realize God hates sin? God tells us to be holy as He is holy. Therefore, why would we indulge in actions that we know He hates? See, those words are easier written than lived. It’s difficult not to succumb to the world’s influences especially when you’re a fellow partaker of it, right? You work in it; party in it; entertained by it. The world has become your mistress, and she is stealing your attention away from God. You don’t have time to commune with God. Your job has taken your attention. Your spouse has taken your attention. Your children have taken your attention. School has taken your attention. God is forced to take a backseat in your car. There is no room for Him with you in the front especially since you’ve decided to drive. Don’t be deceived. God will not take a backseat to anyone or anything! The Spirit of God will chase you down, and you will submit either on your own or by having your knees broken by the rod of discipline. I’m sure you’ve seen men who are placed on high pedestals by society fall hard. Well, never forget that the higher the pedestal, the harder the fall. Men spend their lifetime building a pedestal for them to stand on. They’re deceived in thinking it won’t one day fall. Funerals are vain for such men. Why? Well, they’re dead, and they cannot enjoy the extravagance they spent their lives creating. For this reason, and many others, repent today for your sins. Repent openly for your shameful ways. Refuse to allow dangerous thoughts to play in your mind. In fact, an idle mind is a playground for dangerous thoughts to play. They’ll wreck your yard and leave you lifeless and miserable in every single way. You don’t have to be a statistic. Break the cycle. Be accountable. Defy the words said against you. Seek help right now. Repent for your sins. Confess your sins to your brother, and pray earnestly for him as he prays earnestly for you. There’s peace waiting out here for you. I won’t beg you to fall to your knees now. Why? Well, you’ll fall one day. You won’t have any other choice. And, the games you played here will one-day play you. I offer my ears to hear the confessor, my heart to plead for the hurting & my words to convict the stubborn. May your conviction abide in you; addictions depart from you and wisdom mature in you.
