I WONDER! Upon reading this interview of Ms. Ana Gomes, I begun to wonder about the motives of European officials like Ana Gomes and their fetish interest in a people and a country of distant places such as Ethiopia. I also begun to wonder, why do we, as Ethiopians and Africans, need to have our national and continental affairs validate, as being write or wrong, by outside authorities? Are we not educated well, intelligent enough, full of wisdom? Are we incapable of gathering together with progressive attitude to imagine our collective destiny? We claim to have been on this planet for three thousand years. As people of Ethiopia/Africa, have we not developed the depth and the temperament required to sit around the table and conceive of a close to perfect political and economic order, without wishing the complete demise of one another? If not... ......then who exactly should be my brothers keeper?
