I adopted George on 13/07/2006. He was around 3 years old and had been rehomed a couple of times and then returned back to the centre. He wasnt on view to the public as he got kennel stressed. I met him, loved him and he later came home with me. Hes been my best friend for the last 8 years and is my baby boy. Aside from his hatred of motorbikes and any dog bigger than him I couldnt have ever asked for a better dog. Im heartbroken to say that a month ago a couple of days after a weekend at the beach he started being lethargic and sick. A trip to the vets and a couple of injections, he appeared to perk up slightly. 2 weeks ago he started to go downhill, become breathless just coming up stairs. Back and forth to the vets for a week, blood tests and today a trip to rosewood animal hospital for X-rays and ultrasound its been discovered he has various tumors which are cancer. Theyre tapid growing and aggressive. He has one mass near his heart, windpipe, spleen and probably his liver. Its only developed over the last month and I cannot believe how quickly its all happened. Hes always been a fit healthy happy dog. Ive been told he has only days left. Vet told me to bring him home and spoil him, enjoying what time we have left as nothing else can be done. There is a chance that a tumor could rupture a blood vessel which could happen at any time and that will be the end. Sorry for the long post but I just wanted to say thank you for the work that you do and giving me my angel. Xxx
