I almost never post, because I dont think as a medical professional that I should dip my toe into politics or opine on controversial issues in a public forum. That said, I have a suggestion with regards to the Ebola situation here in the United States. If Obama and the representatives from the CDC say that flight restrictions will not be helpful or useful in preventing an Ebola outbreak in this country, I propose that we send a chartered bus to DC airport and load the bus up with an entire flight from Monrovia, Liberia. Then we send the bus for a VIP tour of the White House and ask that Pres. Obama and the CDC administrators to personally greet each and every passenger from the flight from Liberia. If you want to show us how little danger you think there is, then show us dont tell us! But the truth is they know that they cannot stop an outbreak in this country without severe travel restrictions and Obama doesnt have the stones to make such a strong decision that will obviously inconvenience a very large amount of people. I am expecting to have a patient any day now with Ebola.
