I am Jason Kelley ,I grew up in a small town in Tennessee. There were very few things to do around the small town .I began smoking at the age of 14 ,I thought I was cool !!!My mother let me smoke she didnt want me lying to her so she enable me !That same year my papaw past away ,I saw him take his last breath he was a heavy smoker .He coughed a lot and could barely catch a breath .My granny knew smoking caused his heart condition so she was against smoking .I decided to quit smoking since I was so young my mother, grandmother, uncle, father, and grandfather all smoked! I started smoking again at the age of 17 years old when a family trauma affected our whole life! I used smoking as something to keep me calm! I continued smoking for many years until I realized my mother was a drug addict as well as my grandmother! Something had to change in my life, I didnt want to end up like her. She started with her addiction to cigarettes .I kept smoking but praying that I didnt have the addictive personality of my family. I distanced myself from them, I got a good job I love and met a new friend !He showed me an alternative to smoking cigarettes .He told me about vaping he showed me his vape pen so I went and bought one and little by little I quit smoking cigarettes .I learned then that I was in control of my life and nothing including my family history could change that! Vaping has changed my ability to take control and made me quit smoking. It made me feel stronger for being able to quit! At this time I would like to thank Roxan Smallwood for helping me find this group and I would like to challenge Jason Lamb to quit smoking and pick up a ecig!!!
