I am a big fan of the internet. I run my business, entertain my brain, and pay most of my bills online. There are countless uses for this technological wonder that brings the world to my fingertips. Yet, I would gladly give it up if people would return to being civil to each other. For example (not that you need one) person A passes along some dubious information as fact. As their friend, you privately and politely mention to them that the information isnt quite correct and provide a valid and reliable link to the correct information. Suddenly and publicly you are called out by that person as a idiot or moron and personal attacks from strangers pile on, in some cases destroying friendships and family relationships that were formed before the internet. In many cases, the passion demonstrated tends to be about actions or concepts that have NO impact upon the people involved. Regardless of our differences, wouldnt it be great if everyone could agree to be civil?
