**I am a teacher in Indiana. I witnessed and lived through a metamorphosis in public education …a metamorphosis of a most evil kind…the deceptive destruction of public education at the hands of the powerful. It didnt matter what the propaganda was, or the twisted and manipulated explanation of the week was, I knew something was very, very wrong because I was LIVING it. I watched the spirit and soul of my colleagues, my students, and my schools... I watched as their spirits grew dim and a wave of fear and hopelessness set in. I knew something was different inside of me too. As I went to the voting booth during the second term of Mitch Daniels... for the first time in 20 some years, I could not pull the lever for a straight Republican ticket. I knew in my heart that he ushered in this new era of fear and oppression for public schools. What I didnt know was how bad it would become. I didnt even know why at that time... I just knew something was wrong. I could not vote for Mitch Daniels. If I recall, I left it blank... and voted for every other Republican.
