I am allergic to wool but would not object to its use if the sheep were treated with care and kindness, shorn carefully without pain, and not eventually slaughtered for meat. We have carpeting in two bedrooms made from PET (recycled plastic bottles) which are almost indestructible, easy to clean, allergy free, soft underfoot, and can again be recycled when they finally start to look worn. I also have some hemp shirts, and organic cotton sheets...nothing like their softness.
