I am blessed to call Mitch Mitch Odom, friend, long distance - TopicsExpress

I am blessed to call Mitch Mitch Odom, friend, long distance mentor and kindred spirit. This is his morning post: I am in a personal study of Revelation that is going into its 3rd year. I am not doing this study for the purpose of preaching, but for my own understanding. One thing I have been moved by is where God has taken me through this study. It has not been a personal Revelation about the about the end of the world, but the coming reign of Christ. It has not been about the things we should live in fear of, but what we should live in expectation of. It has not been about the doom work of Satan in this world, but about the glory of Jesus Christ on His throne. Many study and understand Revelation from a national border perspective. In other words, we tend to interpret Revelation from an American nationalistic viewpoint. God is not about preserving America, He is building another kingdom that knows no national borders. There is a spiritual war taking place in our world that has no recognition of national borders whatsoever. It is a war between good and evil, Light and darkness, Jesus and Satan. America has not been blessed it is Gods chosen land, but because it has been a people of good and Light. When we are no longer a people of good and Light, we walk out from under Gods blessing. In this midst of it all - Christ is establishing His kingdom. My point is: what if we were as concerned about the establishment of Gods kingdom as we are about the preservation of America? It would seem that if our priorities were in the right order, America would be preserved and if our priorities are out of order, America will continue to deteriorate. Either way, Jesus is still King over the kingdom of God which includes all believers in every nation.
