I am bummed and a bit overwhelmed. I got the bad news today about my 3 1/2 year old total knee replacement. An infection has been slowly eating away at my bones. I am going to have to have my old replacement removed, a temporary replacement put in for 6 weeks while I get IV antibiotics daily for those 6 weeks. Then I will go back to surgery to have a new knee replacement. I wont have any Physical Therapy until after my 2nd surgery. I dont think I will be walking very well with the temporary knee. My mobility is very important to me so I am going to have to suck it up and make it through this. My first surgery is Feb. 10 - the doctor would have done it next week, but we have a trip planned to the NW to see our son and grandson. :(
