I am confused. It seems to me that anyone forced to choose between being raped or being killed would choose to live and be raped. Yet in society, people are always chastised for making light of a situation involving rape, but never involving murder. People always say things like that test killed me or I would kill to have... and no one bats an eye. However, if someone makes a remark like that test raped me they are instantly confronted. Im not saying that making light of rape or murder is in any way okay, but I am simply asking why we tend to be more offended by rape jokes than murder jokes, when clearly murder is the more serious offense.
