I am constantly being reminded that people often judge you/others - TopicsExpress

I am constantly being reminded that people often judge you/others by their own standards, their own actions, their own beliefs, their own thoughts, their own mindset, and their own mental and physical make up. I had a very rude, and almost life ending awakening about how dangerous that kind of thinking can be. It was a medical situation, however the ramifications of that gave me so many metaphors for life and showed me the impact, and often devastating consequence of not respecting or understanding individuality. I went through degree level statistics and I vaguely remember the bell curve. What I now remember most however about the bell curve and standard deviations are those tail ends. That 2% either side. Many of the facts and figures that people quote to me about various things relate to the 68 or 96%. That is fine, unless you dont happen to live in the middle of the bell curve. If you dont, you could at best be compromising your freedom of expression and creativity, and at worst be risking your life. So, before you lay judgement and opinions on others (no matter how well meaning it might be), I would suggest checking whether you know enough about them to be sure that whoever you are shoulding on is similar enough to you to be operating from the same premise, programme, and mindset. The shift can be simple. Rather than coming from you should do this and that, it is sometimes just coming from the premise of I did x, check it out and see if it resonates with you . . . . . The Know Thyself, said to come from an Ancient Greek aphorism is I think where it could be at as a starting point. The more you know and understand yourself, the better judge you become about what resonates with you, and the more awareness you have about how things impact both your mental and physical body.
