I am extremely disappointed in the details of this torture report. Seriously, we didnt force feed them ham, bacon, pig knuckles or anything like that. We didnt piss on the Koran in front of them; we didnt drag their families in front of them and use them as leverage. And we didnt use a knife to slowly saw any of their heads off, then post it on YouTube. We didnt set them on fire. We didnt put a few thousand of them in one building then fly a plane into it. Folks, when you are in a struggle to the death (which we are) and one side throws out the rulebook, that rulebook is not only meaningless, it is actually harmful to the chances of victory for the side that insists on following it. But were the good guys! We dont do things like that! Go back and read the firsthand accounts of the men who fought in the Pacific. They were fighting an enemy whose culture was completely different, where mercy was viewed as weakness, and any barbarity and cruelty was justified, as long as they won. Our Marines and Army personnel who fought in the Pacific learned that reality, and they responded in kind. Even those few Japanese who tried to surrender were cut down; they were burned alive, they were brutalized and beaten....by the good guys. Does that make those members of our Greatest Generation any less the good guys? Does the fact they committed evil acts on their enemies that were as brutal as those perpetrated on them by the Japanese make them evil men? Yeah, I know; there are actually people who would answer yes to that question, that wars have rules. Fortunately, our Greatest Generation did not agree. So they used flamethrowers to incinerate men, then let them burn instead of shooting them. They bashed in the skulls of their enemies even when that enemy was incapacitated. They were every bit as brutal as the Japanese, and anyone who doesnt believe that hasnt read any firsthand account of the men who fought there. And every one of us should thank God that they did. Were at war, folks, and it doesnt have rules, especially when confronted with an enemy that wants nothing less than the death of every single one of us who are not of the true faith. As hard as that might be to hear, the quicker people accept that, the better our chances at winning. The difference is that well stop short of exterminating Islam, so yes, that makes us the good guys.
