I am getting kind of sick of this zero tolerance crap. We, as a society, have zero tolerance for heroin....has that made it disappear? DUH! NO! Zero tolerance is a good idea but people need some common sense on where to draw that line! How many school shooters have there been? Is zero tolerance stopping them? Just like the suicidal or other homicidal people, the ones who are actually a danger to themselves or others generally dont broadcast beforehand...they just do it. We would be better off with stupid metal detectors at every entrance! There is NO creating a perfectly safe environment using zero tolerance. Unfortunately, the past has shown that the best way to discourage an unwanted behaviour has been to set an example. They are using this boy to set an example. Of what, you ask? Of not being a good little citizen blindly following orders from someone in authority. Of being a kid, one who forgot he was no longer allowed to play this way.
