I am glad that the Ealing Gazette, having shown unbelievable bias - TopicsExpress

I am glad that the Ealing Gazette, having shown unbelievable bias towards the Labour Party in the run up to the local elections on 22nd May - culminating with publishing a full page front cover Vote Labour advert in their last issue before the election - see below - have today published my letter criticising Leader Julian Bell and the Labour Party over his comments in last weeks front page story: Labour Humbled by Voters that despite cuts the Council will try and improve services. Julian Bell cannot be taken seriously when he has presided over swollen management staff and consultants at the Council on over- generous pay packets, while the Council staff on the ground who actually do the work are increasingly stretched and cut. In 2011 the Council spent a staggering £300m on Council staff, excluding external contractors. Take, for example, the envirocrime officer that covers Perivale. Previously he covered 3 wards. That was hard enough. Now he is stretched to 5 wards. Horsenden Hill meanwhile is without a replacement park ranger, despite the worsening fly tipping that takes place on the hill, and street cleaning service standards are still failing. The Council are failing everywhere to meet their existing obligations and keep on top of basic maintenance. I tweeted Julian Bell today challenging him on many different points, the vast majority of which he was unable to respond to.
