I am in the process of setting up a charity project which aims to use World Music events to raise funds for education in some less fortunate schools around the world. This project’s name is IAMU – the International Arts Musically United. The objective would be to help build an Information Communication Technology room (ICT) for the pupils as well as building cultural bridges between primary schools in the UK and abroad. A primary school in Dakar, Senegal has been chosen as first beneficiary. I have already made contact. On 22nd March, I’m organising the launch event at the SouthBank Club, Dean Lane, in Bristol. Please, find attached a flyer about it. • IAMU project presentation • Fofoulah (fofoulah): a London-based group mixing Senegalese voice and West African rhythms with dub basslines, sci-fi synths, raw guitars and intense grooves. • Support band: Silent Theatre, a local young band with a budding ambition for music. • Plus DJs: Métisse (WOMAD & Glastonbury) Hinglish (Passion Radio Bristol) Nabster (Passion Radio Bristol) Giff (Funky Fiesta & Buddahfied festival) Doors open: 21:00 Fees: £5 adv./ £6 on door Venue: The SouthBank Club, Dean Lane, Bristol Please feel free to spread the news and join us to help put Southville on the Worldmap!
