I am just off the phone with our brethren in Kissi Kingdom. - TopicsExpress

I am just off the phone with our brethren in Kissi Kingdom. Parliamentarian Hon. Sahr Patrick Tengbeh, MP for Constituency 03 [covering Kissi Teng & Kissi Kama] is currently in Koindu awaiting arrival of Medicines Sans Frontiers (MSF) tomorrow to examine proposed site for a Field Hospital to be immediately built by MSF to isolate and treat Ebola patients right there in Koindu. A site by the old waterworks has been earmarked. Meanwhile, Hon. Tengbeh along with Deputy Minister of Labour Augustine Kortu (also a Kissi), Koindu Town Chief Moses Foryoh and Kissi Teng Chiefdom Speaker Fallah Jusu all travelled into Liberia today to use Liberia-based Radio Tambatenko to address entire Kissi clan in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone on importance of cooperating with Health officials in combating this Ebola disease that has no cure. It is the only radio powerful enough to cover entire Kissi Kingdom spanning the three countries. I am told the sensitisation, done in both the Kissi language and Krio was well received. I am also sad to report that two more of the Ebola patients have died in the Koindu environs and were buried in their villages without informing the authorities. However, the sensitisation exercise today on radio (which will be repeated daily until next week) plus the upcoming Field Hospital of MSF in Koindu, might hopefully cause a reversal of the suspicion of the residents. Let me use this chance to say Kissi people are an amazingly resilient ethnic group. Under normal circumstances, they are hardworking, humble and very welcoming of strangers. And finally, I want to debunk the allegation floated by certain persons that I incited Kissi people to chase Health Ministry officials. It is not true at all. Truth also to be stated is that this is not the first time the Kissi Teng people call me with news. Like many, many, many citizens in remote places of Sierra Leone that are usually ignored, the Kissi folks feel safe to call me when they have joyful news or sad news to share. Politics is all about letting the PEOPLE trust you and love you. For now, citizens ALL OVER SIERRA LEONE EVEN IN REMOTE PLACES, continue to look up to me, trust me and love me. You can never take that away from me. Visit link below when the Kissi people called me last year with the good news about their solar lights in Koindu town. I was publicly happy for them back then and now, I am publicly sharing their pains no matter the insults I receive for this. May God bless and protect the Kissi people. https://facebook/sylola/posts/556978644365570
