I am learning some cool stuff about our early family some may find interesting......I had already mentioned the lore passed in Martha Finneys family about G Washington visiting...but I have also learned that during one of the Finney family dinners in the early 1700s Robert Finneys wife Dorothea boxed the ears of one of her daughter in laws right at the table for wasting a piece of bread...then there was Jennet Finney in Crawford Ohio, tough as nails daughter of Lawyer Robert Finney, who took claim of an abandoned cabin and claimed it as her home, when the owner of the cabin returned to the cabin in the spring he was greeted by Jennet and her shotgun....it appears the man did not want to fight with Jennet so he left and built another cabin nearby for his family and the cabin and the land became Finney property...irony of this story is Jennets daughter ended up marrying the son of the man she chased off and the property eventually ended up with the original owners family after he died...There was also a William G. Finney born in Harrison Co Ohio who went to work for the gov in Washington DC and he or his son, cant recall, were in Fords Theater the night President Lincoln as shot
