I am lucky enough to have never suffered from depression, but it has touched my life in other ways. When someone like Robin Williams dies from severe depression, there are those that think it is a selfish thing to do. I can understand this, because if youve lost loved ones who loved living, it seems crazy that others would make a choice to leave their loved ones behind. The truth is though that depression is a mental illness that takes them to a place that leaves them with an inability to rationalise. They are not able to see how much they are loved or how much their death will hurt others. Proper mental illness is a terrible thing and when it hits someone who seems to have so much, it seems bizarre but mental illness is random and just because you are a multi millionaire or are famous, it doesnt mean it wont affect you. I was so sorry to hear of Robin Williams death. Over the last 35 years he has made me laugh on a regular basis and cry occasionally too. I used to hate to watch him being interviewed though, as he never seemed to take off his comedy mask and show his true self. Now, to an extent, I understand why.
