I am making the following statement, the following views are solely mine & not of anyone else. The reason I joined UKIP despite the negative comments I heard I e being a racist party, a Islamophobic party, a narrow minded party, an anti immigrant party amongst other things was because I saw a party amongst other things which I felt would represent my views in a libertarian way. I saw a genuine party that was not afraid to speak up where other parties have failed. I also saw a political party that would challenge the long standing old political establishments that could change the face of British politics for the better I believed. I am a Muslim & am extremely proud to be a British Muslim more to the point I do not regret joining UKIP and I have had the privilege of meeting some of the most genuine and best individuals in my life, unfortunately as with everything in life there are always a few bad rotten apples in every community who spoil things for everyone else hence they are given a bad name. I personally believe that UKIP can go further in the political arena providing they can get rid of the negative elements tainting its reputation. Now lets go into the core reasons why I am poised to make the following declaration. I have been called a nigger, a Paki, a muzzi rat, a uncle Tom, amongst other vile nasty words from the onset of the Middle East conflict in Gaza recently not forgetting the petty rascist comments made when I first joined UKIP where I bit it on the tongue but enough is enough as there are boundaries. The situation arose when I made a post on Facebook from a humanitarian point of view for the innocent individual deaths on both sides. As a result of the above I have been forced to consider stepping down as an active candidate pending a full internal investigation on individuals, institutions, & groups by my branch Chairman, the East Midlands regional organiser & the National Executive committee. My disgust & disappointment of such abusive & offensive Islamophobic propaganda and rhetoric has sadly led me to make this decision. A full following statement apart from this one will soon be released and in the meantime I would like to thank everyone including UKIP, LEMP & outside of UKIP who are supporting me through these testing times. Also please be aware a legal case could follow and also protection will soon be in place for me and my families safety if need be.
