I am new to the group :) so Ive been reading some of the posts, and they are very upsetting to read, but there is truth behind every single one. I am 18 yrs old with CF and I just wanted to say that the best thing we can do for our CF is to have faith. I read articles all the time about the life span, and the issues, and sometimes it can be so toxic to read. I am not a diseased person in denial, but I understand that the Universe knows more about my life span than an online article. We cannot let CF define who we are, or where we are going. Higher Powers take care of that. Every walk of life has a soul contract, and people born with CF are no exception. Each and every one of us has a life path, and there IS a plan for us. The CF is just a part of our path. It is not something to fear, but something to embrace! Thank GOD we have the strength within us to take care of ourselves. Thank GOD we are chosen to understand how valuable life is. Along with CF, comes many gifts. There is no denying that. Staying positive is the best thing we can do. I am well aware that CF is the reality of the situation, but sometimes life can be extremely miraculous. We cant disregard our existence bc we are born with a few faulty pieces. In the bigger picture, there is nothing stopping us from doing the important things. We can still love, we can still cry, we can still laugh. We can feel very deeply. We can experience the world, even if our glasses are a little fogged up. We need to use our CF to help others, and to keep each other POSITIVE. Every single person with CF is destined for greatness, otherwise, we wouldnt have been chosen to take on such a complex life path. WE were selected to handle complex matters. It is something to be thankful for, in the weirdest of ways. I understand what it is like to have some bad experience (my lung function used to be 42!!!), but we CAN better ourselves (now its at 76!!!). We have to trust and have faith that we are put here for a reason. Our time is our time, and no one will ever be able to take that away from you. Use your time here to help and lead the way. You are setting an example of just how brave humans can be.
