I am not a bad person, like you made me feel. I am not nothing, like you told me I was worth. I am not ugly, like you said I was. I do not deserve to be disrespected, like you said I did. I am not dumb, like you made me feel. I do not deserve to hurt. I am smart in my own ways. I am beautiful, because God made me. I deserve to smile, and I deserve to laugh. I deserve respect, just as everyone else does. I deserve to be cherished and taken care of, and I deserve to be happy. I have an amazing father, a caring mother, and awesome aunts, cousins, and grandparents. I have outstanding friends and coworkers. I have a boyfriend who would do anything and everything to make me smile. I have an amazing d-group at church who prays with me. And most importantly, I have a God who has died on the cross and saved me. My name is Vannessa... I am a survivor. I am free. I am more than what abuse has made of me. :)
