I am not a big FB fan and am quite private in my declarations. But today I am making an exception, because in less than 4 hours I will be celebrating my 30th Wedding Anniversary (August 19). I am the happiest I have ever been in my relationship with my wonderful husband Wrenwyck- who introduced himself to me as “Rick” (and who many know him as) over 33 years ago as Woodlea Lake Clubhouse. Rick was an uninvited guest at my sorority party and stole my chair and my heart the very first time I met him. I had a drink with no ice and he had ice with no drink. He shared his ice with me. Laughing, much later on, he told me he had been putting the ice in his mouth and back into his glass. I told him that was perfectly fine, because I knew that very night he was going to be my husband. We have been inseparable in spirit, soul and body ever since that first “unofficial” date over 33 years ago. Rick, I thank God for you every day. He has blessed me with a husband after God’s own heart who unselfishly supports me, generously provides for me financially & graciously and boldly protects me spiritually. But most of all you love me unconditionally and show me how much through your tender and passionate kisses and embraces. We have overcome many challenges throughout the years and I am so grateful that we have weathered the storms and didn’t give up on each other. I will continue to follow the example that Jesus teaches. He never gave up on us when we didn’t deserve it. Thank you Rick for not giving up on me; for all of the married couples out there, fight for your marriage. I don’t care how long you’ve been married, 1 year, 10 years or 50 years. It is worth every bit of effort and sacrifice. Rick and I have more passion, desire, love and commitment for each other than when we met over 34 years ago. Baby I got your back and I know you got mine. We were ordained by God to be together for life and eternity because….”You are someone who knows the song in my heart and can sing it back to me when I have forgotten the words.” Happy 30th Anniversary my precious man of mine!
