I am not a pro Gujarati, I do not feel that Gujarati people are - TopicsExpress

I am not a pro Gujarati, I do not feel that Gujarati people are the best in the world; I do not feel that Gujarat is the best state in India or the world. What you see on social networks is simply on a part of who I am. I called my label United States Of Parle for an important reason. I share Gujarati related content, comedy, current affairs etc, because I find nobody else my age does and If I was to complain about it, I would first have to be the change. What I do feel is that more people need to know who Gujarati’s are, what we have done, and what our culture is. I also feel that our song and dance have been limited to 9 days in a year, which would be like limiting Punjabi song and dance, to Lohri or Baisakhi (you’re thinking impossible and narrow minded right? How do you think Garba lovers feel?). I feel we should too be able to hear our music on Asian Radio stations and television channels. I’m not saying all the time, but I’m saying perhaps like once a day?! Sure some of the greatest souls that have walked this earth have been Gujarati, but I am sure some of the most demonic souls have been Gujarati too. I am about celebrating the good, and fixing the bad. And if you have thought otherwise, I apologise for miss communicating who I am and what I stand for. I’m not going to apologise for being proud of the good in my Gujarati culture, and sticking up for a silent majority who are often stereotyped for being weak and quiet. (Weak and quiet maru kapaar.)
