I am not going to let this news get buried, and I hope you help me spread the word too. Once again, students are being asked to cough up cash. Its a given that the government has tough choices to make coming up, but taking $21 million from the backs of students is not how you manage a post-secondary system. The direct result of these tuition hikes will not be quality -- it will further restrict access to education. It will make it less affordable and clearly, not predictable. In March, Im sure well see further budget cuts. I long for the day when this government has a good, stable plan for post-secondary education in Alberta. But that requires long-term planning.
