I am not impressed with my follow writers………so let me be the first to start. For as long as I can remember I have always wanted to write and as I say this I have never taken any classes to improve my grammar or spelling (big mistake) but thank God for spelling and grammar check on the computer. I maybe dating myself but when I first started it was on a typewriter which was not grammar or spelling mistake friendly. Over the years with life’s ups and downs, raising three kids and the drama call men my dream of being a writer was always put on the back burner. However, after a car accident in 2009 I realized that it was time to finish my book plus I had time on my hands and I was bored doing nothing. I started to dig for all the pieces of my book that were on paper from my old typewriter or saved on a very old and heavy computer and all the piece of scrap papers with my notes; along with what I had on my new and up to date computer I got to work. One thing I must admit is that I have always been scared to allow others to read what I had written because like I said ‘I have never taken any classes to improve my grammar or spelling”. I knew that they would find mistakes but I feared that they would either tell me they liked it because they didn’t want to hurt my feelings or tell me the truth which would hurt my feelings but I knew I had to get over it. Once I was 90% finish I started looking for friends to read what I wrote and for publishing companies. When my book was finally published it was like giving birth and I was the proud author of ‘Don’t Waste the Years’.
