I am now going to go controversial: there are so many horse owners out there trying to do it on the cheap. cheap rugs , grazing etc. Here is a reality check! Do you have your horse insured for up to £5000 vets bills because if not how will you pay the bill if your horse>pony colics and the vet says only option to save its life is an operation (£3999) plus aftercare £2000 If you cannot afford it you cannot afford the pony/horse We hear so much of people thinking that they can rescue a horse or pony and stick it in a field to have a happy ever after lie. Sorry reality is it will need worming dentistry and feed to the equivalent of over £1500 per year if you cannot afford it dont get into it
