I am obsessed with this muscle this week! Its your Adductor - TopicsExpress

I am obsessed with this muscle this week! Its your Adductor Magnus, located on the inside of your thigh. It shares an attachment at the pelvis with your hamstring and then attaches down the length of your thigh bone. It primarily works to bring your leg back towards your body, but also has roles of extending your hip and even rotating it. As a muscle, it takes over in stabilising your hip and pelvis when your Gluteus Maximus & Medius arent working properly (your bum muscles!) When working abnormally, it can pull the leg too far inwards, creating pain down the thigh, in the knee and the pelvis/low back. And is often mistaken for a hamstring injury. Its often neglected when stretching & incredibly painful to work on with massage & foam rolling. But its so necessary! Here is a great video which speaks more about the muscle & how you can work on it at home: youtu.be/Q0F4DEsJjls
