I am often asked the question, Are Beautycounters products Organic - TopicsExpress

I am often asked the question, Are Beautycounters products Organic or Natural? Before Beautycounter, I assumed that if a product had those words on the label, it was a healthy choice. What I didnt know was that “organic” and “natural” do not have legal definitions in the cosmetics industry. Companies can say that a product is organic when in fact there are no certified organic ingredients in it, or even just a few. Many products in the beauty aisle also make claims about health: hypoallergenic, natural, or doctor-approved may come to mind. Unfortunately, a lot of these terms are meaningless as well. We need to shift the conversation from Is it organic? to Is it health protective? That is going to take some time with all of the green washing out there, but that is why Beautycounter is here. Beautycounter uses many ingredients that are certified organic, natural, or naturally derived, and we use some (safe!) synthetic ingredients. The crucial part of this conversation is that our products are *health protective* first and foremost. Beautycounter bans more than 1,500 ingredients in our products, setting a new health and safety standard in the industry. We do this while also ensuring our products meet high performance and efficacy standards, and that theyre as indulgent as any luxe shampoo, lipstick or oil on the market. View the images below to find out more about our comprehensive ingredient selection process, how our formulas differ, and how we are forcing a much needed change in the beauty industry.
