I am often disappointed when people tell me that no action is taken after their business has gone to the effort of surveying employees (sometimes it is about engagement, sometimes about employee “satisfaction” and other times it is about organisation culture). I guess I was not surprised to read about an Aon Hewitt European Manager Survey which found that 27% of managers never even reviewed the results at all, and 52% reviewed the results but took no action! If you work in an organisation that undertakes an employee survey and you hear nothing about the results, how about you ask someone about them? Let’s not go down the path of civil disobedience or becoming a “troublemaker” but be curious about what the results were. Even better ask if there is anything that you can do to help. Just a thought!
