I am one of those people that gets on FB on Sunday nights with a bit of trepidation because there are times that reading everyones brags can leave a bad taste in my mouth. Sometimes its because weve had a lousy weekend (yes sour grapes), sometimes its because the SAME person brags every freaking weekend and sometimes its because the brags can be less than gracious. So I do not post wins unless they are special and today is a special, special win. Suede is 9 1/2 and this was his last time competing in herding. He is my first herding dog from HT to PT to Herding Started and earned his Herding intermediate title on ducks. We needed one more leg for intermediate sheep and this weekend was it as he is retired from herding after this. Saturday we came within 1 pt. Today I emotionally walked into the ring knowing this would be the last time we would do this. I finished and walked out of the ring even more emotional than when I walked in. We qualified with a 3rd place. As with all sports, its all relative but I know the journey we have traveled to get to this point and its been amazing. Many thanks for my instructors, Ce Cody and Janet Benson and the clinics with Lynn Leach. You will see a note on the bottom of the score sheet from the judge Darlene Laurin -she has seen our progress throughout the years and has NQd us more than once. This time she wrote Youve come a long way, baby! And a cyber hug to Kristina Provenzano for giving me Suede ...words cannot express.
