I am putting up todays song late, because it is pretty annoying, - TopicsExpress

I am putting up todays song late, because it is pretty annoying, but still will always remind me of Joe. This week, when we were in Boston for appointments, I thought of this song and a funny memory we have. Joe was really into the Chipmunks at one point. Had all three of the movies on his iPad and watched them over and over to the point that I had every line in the movie memorized. Anyway, because he was a fan of The Chipmunks, he, naturally, loved the Chipmunk Christmas song. And, I have told you that he had an good memory for songs...so he knew the whole thing by heart and would often sing it, sometimes just to annoy me. The funny memory about this song took place after one of Joes many appointments in Boston. It was a nice day, around this time of year, and we decided that before heading back to Dracut, we would take the T to Quincy Market and walk around with Joe. We made it to the T stop, and had to wait a few minutes, much too long for Joes liking. He got bored, but he had his trusty blue ukelele with him, so I told him to sing a song while we waited. And, of course, in the middle of Boston on a nice spring day, he decided to sing the Chipmunk Christmas song rather than the hundred other cool Beatles songs that he knew. This is the day/time I realized Joe had a sarcastic and funny sense of humor. After the first verse of the song, I was already annoyed with his song choice (and he knew that because he smiled extra wide and sang extra loud when I looked at him), and asked him to sing ANY other song. So, he stopped singing, looked at me, and said, Ok, Dad. I will sing a different song. I promise. And, then he starts up and sings the Chipmunk Christmas song even louder, looking at me and cracking up the whole time. He did this over and over, even as we got onto the train. Eventually all the passengers around us were cracking up, which meant that he was never going to stop. He always found a way to gather an audience for himself. He always found a way to make people smile, to make them laugh. He probably sang the Chipmunk Christmas song about 50 times before we finally made to Quincy Market. I remember grabbing him, picking him, and covering his mouth, which just made him laugh. Luckily, we ran into a few different street musicians, and his attention turned. He also loved to stop, watch, and listen to those talented musicians. And, that was the end of the Chipmunks...for that day! I love you, Joe. I miss hearing your laugh, and miss hearing you sing and play music. Oh, what I would do to be able to hear you sing the Chipmunk Christmas song one more time! I love you more. youtube/watch?v=xBAshnF0HwY
