I am reaching out because I am at a dead end in the search for my father, last seen on the streets of Los Angeles around 2011, and bounced around between hospitals and mental facilities. His last known whereabouts was a hospital in Santa Monica, where they invoked HIPAA privacy rules and refused to tell me where he was transferred. The police and missing persons dept in LA do not believe he has passed. My only hope now is to find someone in the system or a private investigator in the area with knowledge of the mental health system. He was an amazing soul who had me as a teen, and struggled with heroin addiction his entire life. He disappeared in the 1990s. He was often given the nickname of Buddha on the streets, which tells you about his nature. If you know of someone who might be able to assist in my search, please let me know.
