I am registering for the YMCA sprint triathlon on August 2nd. I am going to use this opportunity to try something new and rest my legs (I have been running on a couple of bad hammys since training for tough mudder). The one thing that I have noticed is that my upper body development has kind of slacked off doing the 100 mile challenge last month. I am not really sure how to balance strength training and endurance training. So, becuase this tri is a short sprint that should take me a couple of hours, i am going to re-incorporate some P90X into this plan with biking and swimming. It looks like this Mon=chest/back+1 mile swim (broken up of course); Tue=20min steady run+Plyo; Wed=Shoulders/Arms; Thur=Yoga; Fri=legs/back+600 yard swim; Saturday=Brick Workout (60min bike to 4 mile run); Sunday=Light 1-2hour bike ride. Then do it all again 2 more weeks, with a recovery week the week of the race. I should be able to finish.
