I am reminded of these words from a gospel song; “sweep around your own front door, before you try to sweep around mine.” Each and every one of us have enough areas in our lives that need improving that if we focused on our own issues, we would, first of all, not have time to criticize someone else. Further more, if you are truly focusing on your own shortcomings, you will remain humble because you will recognize that we are all merely fifthly rags. Since we are all sinners, we have me no right to judge the sins of others. As Christians, we are called to hold one another accountable. But in that accountability, we must remain humble, recognizing that we all are struggling to get this thing called “life” right. As the scripture states, our job is to be obedient to God’s word. And that is a full time job. Each day our goal should be to be better than we were the day before. Lord, forgive us for being so critical and judgmental of one another. We pray that our attitude will be one in which we humbly support, encourage, and help guide others according to Your word. Thank You for being such a merciful God who disciplines us in a loving manner. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
