I am seriously reconsidering taking Tory in to the vets office for B12 shots twice a week for a month. This cat goes frantic when he has to go to the vet. Once a YEAR is bad enough. He is already so stressed out and depressed from all the vet visits weve had lately, including 2 blood glucose tests in the past 2 weeks (weve been there 5 times since March 15).....I do not think he can handle the trauma of that.... PLUS all the noise and activity going on (coming up next week again for who knows how long) with the bathroom remodel....when the cats will be cooped up in a bedroom for 10 hours a day while these workers are tromping around in and out of the house. This cat has already endured a lot of trauma and I dont think its worth the added trauma when there is no guarantee that these shots will even do anything. I am going to call the vets office tomorrow and ask them if we could possibly wait for another month before we consider taking him for these treatments.......IF, that is, we decide to do it at all. Yes, Torys legs are very weak and if there was a way we could do it without having to submit him to more trips to the vet I would do it in a heartbeat. But I cant stand to see him go through what he is going through 8 more times in the next 4 weeks!!!! No. I will take him in for blood glucose tests because we have to do that but these B12 shots are not an absolute necessity so I believe I have to draw the line somewhere. Not to even mention the cost. Dont get me wrong, I love this cat enough that I would pay $100 a pop if I had to but we are not rich either. So that is where I am at right now on this subject. This is so freaking hard. I just feel numb.
